Hi all
There was a message here a few weeks ago about a possible scam so Im just flagging up this one which is basically the same. Someone is pretending to be interested in buying my Le Mans, currently up on line in Marketplace, and insisting on using a bank draft payment . These can be laced with all sorts of problems and are used mainly by scammers who want to ensure you don’t get your money, but they do! Bank transfers the only simple and safe way.

Glad to hear you didn’t fall into their trap. Always good to have a reminder when this sort of thing occurs, or nearly does, just so we keep our guard up.
This scam is endemic currently. A few months ago I was selling my Gen 1 VMax & received several of these scams, always an overseas buyer supposedly buying on behalf of someone else, paying by bankers draft, & arranging a courier to collect the bike.
I would think the scenario would be bank draft appears to clear, funds appear in your account, bike is released, then a few days later bank messages you to advise the draft is fraudulent, funds are debited from your account, your bike has gone, you’ve been scammed
Bank drafts are not an irreversible form of payment, avoid these scammers at all costs !
Cash talks too! Recently had 2 people try it on with me, when I said I had someone interested, one offered above asking, other just wanted my bank details etc
Yet another - nextgear311@outlook.com contacted me claiming they had the item rocker cover protectors) I was seeking in an advert I had placed in the WANTED section on this site. They included a picture of a rocker cover protector found on the internet with the back ground altered to make it look more authentic. A quick Google search on nextgear311@outlook.com shows that they are active in numerous motorcycle and car forums and that the email address originates from Nigeria.

Their emails need bombarding with Spam every time.
Just to say this email nextgear311@ is still active. The person recently contacted me from my Wanted add for a Brembo caliper. Had the correct image too with date on a slip of paper. When they gave me a bank detail for the US and not using PayPal I too searched it up.
