My 2010 had an awkward long side stand that was too far forward, when deployed, to retract with my boot without risking a hernia. Eventually, like two years, I found a simple solution from another site. Just turn the locking tab the other way up. (It may even have been a mistake on the assembly line, but they wouldn’t do that would they?!).The stand now deploys just over 90 degrees from the frame and is easypeasy to retract. The second spring about to be reattached.
