Is it possible to get the service warning light permanently removed? I bought the (2022) bike in June 2024, just under two years old and it’s taken this long to appear as the mileage creeps towards 14,000 miles (I did a full service at 12,500). I was hoping it had already been done.
no but you can buy a device that resets it, details are somewhere in this forum
It appears not. It sounds like you can buy a device that resets error codes but not the service interval indicator.
an obd reader and phone app can reset codes, i had an obd reader already and bought a cable to connect to the bike.
the tablet device to reset service light i saw here costs about £400, i have not got one or used one.
will try and find the post.
i have not found the chinese tablet device posted here yet, but i did find this:
Have the same issue with a 6yo V7iii, and unfortunately, what appears to be the same £400 solution. Nearest MG dealer best part of 2 hours away, so sticking with local garage & I’m learning to live with bl@@dy spanner. Could grind out the spanner with a Dremel, but seems a little OTT…
At £400 I think I can live with a tiny amber spanner sign for a while yet then.
I bought one a year ago, 300 at the time, they were good to deal with. It works, we have 2 v85 s so in my mind it was worth it
which device did you buy?
The Dounix , worth speaking to them via email
