Breva Fuel filter

Changed the fuel filter in breva today, Job went well with help from my"teenage" son…
Managed to extract him of his X box for the required time…

Quick release fuel coupling a fiddle but use 12mm open end spanner to apply even pressure on the release ring. Worse bit was trying to get the seal to stay in place between tank and pump flange. I think the fresh air made the rubber seal grow by about 10%. Managed to get it all back together, then found overflow pipe between filler cap and underside of tank blocked (just looked like lime scale) so push bike brake cable and battery drill to the rescue.
On inspection the plastic part of the filter very soft…
Not sure how long this one would have lasted

The filters were designed to work in a diesel environment, and should never come into contact with petrol.Hope you replaced it with an all metal one.

Oh yes Brian, all metal one UFL 3176000…

Can I also thank Damian Lockley for the article that was printed in Aug-Sept 2012 Gambalunga, it just made the job a whole lot easier…

I’ve found the house RCD trip works very well in that situation.

One ahead, x box powered from a fused spur in the garage which luckily is party wall to the garage. Fuses go very often wits2012-10-25 11:17:36

I wish I’d known you could do that ten years ago, Ken .
