Clutch arm adjustment

Hi all
I would like advice on the adjustment of the clutch arm on my sp the Factory nanual say adjust the centre screw to give 75mm from gear casing to centre of thd tound slot that holds the nipple. My clutch arm bottoms against the rear brake arm spindle so unable to set gap to 75mm?

This has come up before and I think the conclusion was that 75mm is a typo.

I might be wrong but 55mm seems to rings a bell. I know there was a discussion about it on this forum, albeit some years ago.

Whatever, you want to have the arm at right angles to the pushrod when clutch is fully pulled, as this will exert maximum leverage. Hope that makes sense.

Cheers for that.

When I set mine up, I made sure the actuator was clear of the clutch arm when it touched the brake pivot, but not by too much. You can fine tune it with the adjustor on the brake arm itself where it pushes onto the mushroom on the end of the gearbox. Once you have that set up correctly, then hook the clutch cable up and sort the adjustment of that up so it has a bit of free play with the lever released.
