Dealership shrinkage

What will happen to all this unsold new and second hand stock?
Not much point in supplying the remaining dealers with additional stock if they cannot move the stock of bikes they have already!
Over supply and lack of demand, does that mean that prices could potentially drop?

Hawards of Cambridge sold off spares on eBay, I know as I bought a load of Stelvio gaskets from them , I think they are still selling of new stock.

new stock goes back to the manufacturers agents, as motorcycles and cars are not usually paid for until sold, I thin they get a period of grace, until they sell them

How about six grand off an MV?

Great idea. I would attend too

I hear the parent company of MV and KTM are in difficulties and are looking for some big numbers to shore up their funds. Imaging having a bike and later finding the factory has shut and service parts are unavailable. Oh! hang on a minute.

Lot of comments about dealers, service and valves in particular. Maybe a bit trickier if you have loads of fairing to undo, but Guzz bits are really easy to get to… whip off the rocker covers after your breakfast and under 30 minutes later, all done. Oils? Wait for the sun to come out, go for a ride, have a coffee and a bun, open drain plugs/ check the oils when you get back. Ready for refill after a cup of tea or bacon butty. Air filters- slide those in anytime. Timing can be checked but it does not really drift. Carb’ balance- 10- 15 mins but only needed if the beast is running rough or you’ve been working on them- most of the time leave well alone. Brake fluid takes 5 minutes after I changed to easy bleeders. Servicing does not have to be done all in one hit. This way you also know it’s been done “proper:” I stock up on service items during the year, (so get all the special offers) so always on hand and split servicing as described and as needed

I traded in my 2 year old MV for less than half new rrp, 2,000 miles FSH.

Test ride before you buy a kangaroo engined bike.

Not a bargain!

FSH can hide allsorts. Good mechanics all have to start somewhere and can make mistakes like the rest of us. Very rare for me to trust my bike to someone else to work on. If it goes wrong I want it to be my fault only.
