I bought a cheap car sat-nav off marketplace for a tenner and mounted it on the dash of my Cali. The screen keeps it protected from the weather.
Mounted a cigarette lighter socket and USB adapter on the headlight mount. Works great and cost very little.
I too was worried about the beeline bracket snapping off, so I made my own from some 3mm aluminium angle I had. Also that is even tie-wrapped to the bike.
That’s very neat.
I’m grappling with how to fit my Tom Tom rider to my Spada. There’s not much space with the fairing and the rubber dash.
Thinking I may remove the eagle badge from the stearing stem and fit an expanding bolt with a frame that loops around the rubber.
Beeline is looking like a good plan b.
I have a car sat nav inside the fairing of my Spada & use the tomtom rubber suction pad to stick it to the inside of the fairing screen.
Thanks Don. I think I have a suction pad so I’ll have a play. The other issue I have is that as I wear vario focals I have to position it by the dials so I can see it.
Don, I tried it and it does work well but I just dont trust the sucker to hold for the trip to Mandello.
I found an M10 foundation bolt down the stearing stem works as a good anchor for some sort of bracket. Playing with CAD (cardboard aided design) to see what works best.
Andrew
The bracket was 2mm aluminium. Tried it out yesterday on a 130 mile round trip to Ardingly show/autojumble. Worked well but needs to be stiffer. Heavy mount, tom tom and big twin vibes created a lot of wobble. Suspect it will destroy itself if left as is.So I will remake bracket in steel.
Snap.
I started using the Quadlock system after my phone camera got the shakes. Anti-vibration and wireless charging. No need for a waterproof case as the phone is IP68. Love the choice of route option Scenic provides, best SatNav I have used.
