Hello.

I have a long thread going in the Moto Guzzi section of another forum. But wanted to find a Guzzi only board to use also.

Long story short. Originally from Scotland but I now live in Southern Spain. The bike is my transport so does 800-1000km per week. Changed from a BMW R1300RS which i bought new and sold 8 months old with 19,000km. Test rode a Stelvio and loved it. Chassis. Motor. Cant place it. There is something about the bike.

I raced for many years at club level quite successfully. Just missing a championship twice. Many podiums in different classes. 1000, 600, Naked class, Pre Injection 600 etc. But after a decent injury, broken T4, wrist, ankle, both collar bones i retired, then after 10 years of no bikes I found my love for them again then after moving to Spain a bike became my sole transport.

So although I’m probably not the typical Guzzi rider. It shows the bike attracts all types of riders. I also think it is a good test of the bike given how I will use it and the km I cover every week. It’ll be interesting to see how the next 2 years or so go as it will have around 70-80,000 km by then.

Bike gets taken care of like a child. Cleaned with Car Pro Elixir every 2nd day etc. Run on 98ron super etc.

Overall there have been some trivial teething issues with build quality from factory. But now seems ok. Spent some time playing with suspension and found a decent set up with the standard factory kit. Having some real issues with ground clearance as its taken out half the pegs and now the centre stand is touching which causes some the bike to make some interesting shapes mid corner.

Quite liking the Anakee Adventure tyres. The grip is quite low but suits the bike. Combined with that great chassis (for an adventure bike) it is the most fun I have had on a bike in 30 years or riding.

Fitted frame plugs. Changed the levers to allow brake lever to come closer to the bar. Factory engine guards. Panniers. And a Mistral exhaust which I have had for 2 weeks and may sell if anyone wants it. As i prefer the standard exhaust.

Took the bike to the Spanish Stelvio. Almost 800km. Performed well but is a bit underpowered at times. Made a poor quality video edit from some mobile footage.
