I have a 76 T3 that came fitted with a Newtronic Elec Ignition system. I am putting the T3 back together after a rewire but have found that I only have a spark on the L/H cyclinder.
I have checked all the interim cabling and all is ok but I don’t have a wiring diagram for the unit and am using what I scribbled down when I took the bike apart (Should have been a better scribbler!).
Does anyone have a wiring diagram for one of these units (My Newtronic box has a Purple, Yellow & White cable coming from it, which I think are for Coils and Ign switch and a Red wiring going to the Distributor)? I want to check my wiring against the manufacturer.
I Found some diagrams on the web but they don’t quite match what I have (Wire colours), maybe be because of the age of my setup?
Thanks
I have a wiring diagram for my unit but the wire colours are
Blue - Earth
Red - RH coil
Green - LH coil
White - +ve from ignition switch and to +ve terminals on both coils.
The wire to the distributor is a multi core with fine black, blue, yellow and red wires within it. If you would like a copy send me your email address via PM. Are you sure it is a Newtronic unit? Mine is Paranah who Newtronics bought out. The model reference on the Newtronic’s instructions is AK-MG1
This may help you…

I had a Piranha on my Spada and it failed a few years ago so replaced it with the Newtronics unit. When the old unit was dying, it would run on one when first started, then the second cylinder would cut in after a minute or so.
Don
That is the set of instructions I have too
The version “with added comment” is particularly good as that shows the internal wiring between the control box and the lights in the distributor.
