twin plugs

I suspect the real reason is much more to do with emissions than anything else

Better burn…

Part of my twin-plugging plan involves a coil block from a Ford Escort or similar. The Man ( who had twin plugged his beemer)said this would be fine and looking at it there are 3 wires in 4 plugleads out.Seems they use a spare spark by that setup. Compact and cheap. 3 ohm as well if that makes sense with twin plugging.
Now all I need is my heads returned. Which is another story for another day.

Now THAT was worth logging on for!
Great idea.
Be interested to hear how things progress,
All the best

Some years ago there was great debate re twin plugging, I suspect the new guzzis have twin plugs for fuel saving, emmissions and so they can run a bit leaner as well as digest the chemical soup that goes under the name of "Unleaded petrol "

The upshot of great debate was round barrell lots of advantages for a fast engine. Square barrell costs an awful lot more and advantage is “Not as great” … I did have one of raceco’s old catalogues and I may just see if I can find it to give an idea of what costs were

he who dares wins

Yeah but they also often die mate… look if you want MORE ooomph sell it and get the V11 Le Mans …kidding …just jokin’ mate

Ken ive gone and fell in love with me 1100 sport

Johnno,
Have you got any further with the twin plugging? It might be worth you contacting Jim Blomley at JB RACING - he can get old Guzzis to go VERY FAST!
I look forward to your update

Just had a pair of Spada heads twinned for the new project

Hi Ray,

Who did the work for you? I would be interested to hear of the benefits it brings to your bike.

Nigel @NBS and was looking at these coils http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MITSUBISHI-GALANT-MK-V-2-0-V6-24-1992-TO-1996-TWIN-OUTPUT-IGNITION-COIL-PC00010-/190987973759?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2c77c5347f

Thank you for letting me know

Mine were done by Rotadale many years ago, I used Dynacoil coils, if you want the spec I will dig them out.

That would be great Chris - what bike did you do this to?

my 1100 sport proved not worthy of going ahead with. To say it was a bad buy would be 100% true.
After all the hours of repair work I still think the 1100 sport is a wonder to ride
