I have a V100 Stelvio.

Already installed is a Denali “Dial Dim” controller, and associated Denali S4 spot lights.

Being a considerate rider, I only use the S4’s at 15% intensity during the day as DRL’s so as not to dazzle (at 100% they are VERY bright!).

On my V85TT I had the same setup, but had the Hi Beam connected, so the S4’s came on 100% when flashing or on Hi beam…

It appears the V100 is not so straightforward, using a 0v trigger (some CANBUS thingy I assume) between the Hi/Lo switch on the bars (red box “6” in the diagram below) and the LED headlight module in the front fairing… I’ve looked at the workshop manual and the wiring diagram and can’t work out how to get a Hi beam trigger…

Has anyone managed to find a work-around? I see Denali offer a “wiring adapter that will allow Denali lights to change intensity with your factory high beam switch” (see [https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle\_parts/content\_prod/2366627](https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/2366627) - often used on bikes like Africa Twins I believe).

Wiring diagram shows what appears to be a 0v trigger (yellow wire below) from switch to headlight:

Can anyone offer any advice please?

I know nothing about it but is the 0V on the yellow wire constant while high beam is selected, if yes, maybe have it operate a relay?

Thanks Mike
I think we’re of the same view - it has to be a specific relay (like the Denali one), most relays I have ever used need 12v…

I was assuming 12V between an ignition key source and the yellow wire, is this not the case?

I think so! Just finding courage to give it a go! Wondered if anyone else had done it, and where to pickup the yellow wire.
Guess I’ll just give it a go, and report back whether it kills my CANBUS/melts the loom…or simply just works 🙂

Yep, 1 out of 3 possibles… 😀

I’ve just got around to moving this forwards. I spoke to my dealer, and my guess is that they’ve not done this before either, altho they think it is a “Ground Switched” system.
Just to quote the Denali blurb:

> Some vehicles with factory equipped LED headlights utilize ground
> switching to control the high beam. This style of switching does not
> provide the proper 12v+ signal required to trigger the “High/Low Sync”
> feature of our DataDim or DialDim Controllers.
> The DENALI Trigger Wizard fixes this incompatibility by converting the
> ground switched signal from the vehicle to a positive switched signal,
> allowing our controllers to correctly sync your aftermarket lights with
> the vehicles factory high and low beam

I’ve got half the panels off now, and getting to the connector (to get at the yellow hi/lo switching wire) on the back of the headlight is a REAL PAIN!
Just wondering if anyone has done something similar yet?

Hmmm, just gets more mysterious!
No yellow wire!
This is the top of 8 wires

More work to do I think!

On, to answer my own Q…

The yellow/white one. It sits around 4v on dip beam. As soon as you switch full beam or flash, it drops to 0v
Denali Trigger Wizards on order 🙂
