Brandon Auto Electrics in Suffolk have always done me proud with old Guzzi and Ducati stuff, reconditioning starter motors etc. I was put onto them by a BMW chap who’d had stuff done on his old airhead. Very enthusiastic about the old stuff, efficient, knowledgeable and reasonably priced.

I just got off the 'phone to them needing an alternator rewind. They’ve told me they don’t touch motorbikes.

So, does anyone know of a suitable place in the East of England ? I somehow feel we ought to have a directory or something, though I can understand the pitfalls of recommendations if somehow, someone has a bad experience.

WestCountry Windings (based in Thetford in Norfolk) have rewound alternator coils for me at a very reasonable price and quick turn around.

The other name of note is Rex Speed shop, but I have no experience of their work, I’ve just heard they are good. They are based in kent.

There is a post for Guzzi mechanics, feel free to add this company to the post.

> How about a post listing recommended Guzzi mechanics around the country. With an ever decreasing dealer network, more and more people are probably looking for someone to do repairs and servicing. I’ll start with the obvious ones NBS NBS Motor Cycle Servicing, Ingestre Garage, Trent Drive, Ingestre near Stafford, Staffordshire ST18 0RE Telephone: 01889 271818 or 07958 584889 - Email: [nbs@motorcycleservicing.co.uk](mailto:nbs@motorcycleservicing.co.uk) Baldricks workshop, Leatherhead in Surrey. 07536 116 176 [baldricks@hotmail…](mailto:baldricks@hotmail.co.uk)

Thanks Don, that’s exactly what I was looking for. I’ve heard of Rex’s but I thought it was electronics, rather than full spectrum electrical stuff. And for some reason I thought they were in Wales.
