I’ve always been obsessed with keeping my bikes oiled and tucked up in Winter. ACF50, rust guard concoctions, and myriad covers.
I’ve now traded my ultra reliable and boring Honda nc750x for an old 2003 Breva and have noticed, although well worn, with older bikes I’ve had, how much better the fixtures and fitting are compared to modern bikes. It’s the good old story of cost cutting and lighter components but the c90s, triumph 955is, and vfr fis I’ve had all felt and looked better quality, and longer lasting. Proven, over time. Plus the older bikes I’ve owned get more road time and less panicky scottoiler spreading after a splash of liquid sunshine. I guess the older I get I realise that A - all the time they sit in the asgard is time I’ll never get back and B - older is best. Already scratched so not my problem, better made, thicker paint microns, and mist eyed conversion starters.
Now, I wonder if she’ll start today…

You seem to have covered most bases I do not ride when they have salted the roads and my machine is garaged and I run the bike for ten minutes weekly if not going out.
