Hi,
I have a 1972 Ambassador and very little (none) mechanical knowledge…not a perfect match!
Can anyone recommend a a trusted Moto Guzzi mechanic in the North West area, preferably Lancashire?
She’s running rough as and Ive exhausted my megre knowledge now.
Thanks in advance.
Is Yorkshire is a bit far for you?

Thanks Don,
Im hoping for something a bit closer but if not I’ll definitely give him a bell.

Hello Scotty.
I bought an 850T from Oxford a few years ago. It was complete but had been unused for about 12 months. I was assured it would run, which it did. The owner had charged the battery etc. and fired it up for me when I went to pick it up. I live in Lancashire so I hired a van to pick up the bike.
I also contacted Nigel and arranged to drop off the bike for him to give it a once-over and set up the carbs, timing etc.
He was a pleasure to talk with, very helpful, and even offered to deliver the bike to me at less than it would have cost me to hire a van again.
Oh. He also fitted a second disc on the front. Apparently the second disc was optional when new.
He delivered the bike on time and before I knew he was there he had it off his trailer and parked up. The bike was running properly, he stayed for a brew and a chat and then returned to Stafford.
He is a pleasure to deal with and will be a sad loss to the Guzzi community when he decides to hang up his spanners. Dave

Thanks Gents,
Im going to have a ‘tinker’ with the points and fuel lines/filters today. If that doesn’t improve the running I’ll be giving Nigel a bell!
Scotty
He sorted out my 2 year old Breva, after a so called mechanic took it apart and forgot about it
2 years later it was still in bits, and i noticed many many other machines in a similar state
I recovered the machine ( well most of it)
and having no practical skills contacted several dealers, none of whom would take the job on, they offered to buy it for scrap and sell me another one , Nigel was contacted, given a list of the problems, and a few pictures, a few weeks later he arrived and collected the bits, but did say he could not look at it for three months
gave me a price which was more than acceptable ( I negotiated payment with the idiot mechanic) and three months later, I have a motorcycle all put together properly, with various mods done, and running like a swiss watch, I still own the motorcycle, and we have been on many trips together to trace my family across Europe
His Brother also looks after classic cars, and I contacted him to see if he would like to refurbish my classic car, he was very touched by my trust, but I think he is taking it a bit easy now, and I do not trust many people near Evelyn my Ancient Morris
Nigel is a true engineer, none of your flatcap eton twattery, buzz words and bits of carefully placed crap lying about
My Father was a Toolmaker, and growing up around Engineers, I know what they look like, and how they work
he is also a genuinely nice bloke
by the way, the imp on the back, after a trip to Mandello, now owns a modern V7
