1st Service, where to go.

Hi all.

My 2025 V7 special is coming up for it’s 1st service. Currently on 824 miles.

I bought it as a distance sale from Deardens in Southampton but as I live in Grimsby I don’t plan on riding it back.

I understand the 1st service has to be Guzzi authorised as ECU reset required. Searching online it looks like my options are Wheels at Peterborough (1hr 50 mins ride) or Appleyards at Keighley (2hrs 55min ride)

Does anyone know of any others that might be available and if not any experiences with dealing with the above mentioned?

I intend to ride there and back so allowing 4 hrs for the service plus travel times I’m trying to keep distance short.

Thanks in advance

From my experience you are lucky not to use Deardens, so that is  .

But as my (good) dealer is in Bristol so that is no real help sorry

it has to be left overnight if you want the valves checked and set.

unless you trailer it there of course.

Can’t complain at the deal I got. They had 2 x new E5+ models at 6700 each. Telephone calls and messages were spot on. Very helpful and the courier they used was excellent.

Got it with USB charging and rear rack extra, OTR and delivery for 7400

The distance to find a decent service centre isn’t so good though, :joy:

VIA MOTO in Barnsley comes up on the MotoGuzzi website, but i have no experience of them. Note that MotoGuzzi have the address muddled it is:

Via Moto,

Unit 8A, Everill Gate Business Park

Everill Gate Ln,

Wombwell,

Barnsley,

S73 0FJ

0114 3033000

Via Moto stopped selling Guzzis a couple of years ago, not sure if the still service them. Worth asking though.

MSC at Nottingham is probably next nearest https://scooters.co.uk/

there are authorised service locations that are not dealers/sellers, I’ve used one in Surrey. as long as they have the PADS and are approved by piaggio it’s fine for any warranty issues

Teasdale in Thirsk? 85 miles from Grimsby if you use the A19.

Wheels wouldn’t do mine unless I took the sidecar off. I’d just paid someone to put it on, and I don’t have the facilities or tools to do suchlike at home anyway, so that wasn’t happening. They reckoned they wouldn’t be able to get it through the workshop door. Really?? How narrow is you doorway then?

Ended up doing it myself, not complicated, didn’t involve any ECU stuff. Other than I got a OBD scanner to check injection figures and if any DTC’s. There weren’t any. No kind of reset required, or I didn’t do one anyway. Done all my own servicing since. Re: 2021 V7 Special. I appreciate the newer ones are a bit different with more electronic features and wot-not.
