My dealer has just quoted me for two sets of fork and dust seals as they’re fitting progressive springs and I have a slight weep on one forkleg (at 25,000 miles). The Guzzi kit amount is £115 per side! Surely not??
Any thoughts on this?

That’s robbery. If you know the size of the forks and manufacturer? What are they? Like 41mm or something? A search under some other machine that has them? I know I replaced the same for a 43mm Kawasaki couple of yrs ago and no more than maybe 30quid. Any pattern part should be perfectly fine.
Per side that’s just silly. Even for both it’s high. Four bits of plastic and rubber.
Just had a search on Kayaba fork seals and did not see a pair for more than 20 quid!
Did a Google on the topic title, e.g. eBay, 2 x KITB-46Z Seal Kit SKF BMW Moto Guzzi Stelvio 1042 2024 2025, £64.45 (that’s two sets)
Single sets seem to go for £38 -ish.
They seem to be SKF (according to the boxes).
Thanks @Mike_H I’ll search for some locally as the ones from Italy are 2-4 weeks delivery and £59 postage. May have to delay my fork upgrades…
When i last did fork seals i had to buy 2 sets to get a set that fitted nicely and were totally dry. While doing it i did a stiction test with a spring balance and found the SKF ones were much less ‘sticky’?? than the originals or All balls. Sadly SKF is just a brand, so they will buy and badge from anyone so we cannot assume their seals are all good, but maybe they set higher standards for seal drag??
A disti in Ledbury, TWS GB has 46mm seals for Sachs inverted forks, £64 for both sides. Great ending, thanks all. ![]()
I did a ful set of seals on a KTM 1090 about 18 months ago, £40 odd for genuine seal kit for both forks
