2024 V85TT Any real difference in it running?

Hi, I currently have the V7 850 Special 22 plate. I fancy a V85TT and understand changes were made for 2024, variable valve timing? Can anyone tell me if there is any discernible difference between the 24 bike and earlier models? Thanks.

Hi Scotsray, I’m on my 6th V85, don’t ask!. I picked up my 2024 VVT euro5+ about 3 weeks ago. I can without hesitation confirm that there is a very discernable difference between the Euro 4/5 and the Euro 5+ bike. The Euro5+ is much more responsive on the throttle and much better fueled at low speed, i.e. town riding etc.
For me it’s just a much more pleasurable bike to ride. Not that there was anything majorly wrong with the previous bikes.

Hi! Thanks for the reply that’s good to know and appreciated. I hope you have many happy miles on yours. All the best.

Ive got to ask, 6th :flushed: tt

Bought my first in 2019 as soon as they came out. I don’t like tubed tyres, so as soon as tubeless came out I swapped for number 2. Absolute loved the centenary colours so swapped again for number 3. Took it in for 2nd service, was lent a KTM 1290 super adventure and was smitten by it’s power so traded the V85.
Kept the 1290 6mnths, it was not for me, swapped for V85 number 4. Not sure how number 5 came about but I bought a Guardia de Onore.
When the Stelvio was released I had the GDO V85 and a Mandello V100S.
I swapped the GDO V85 and the V100s for a Stelvio and a V7 sport corsa. (I didn’t think I needed 2 adventure style bikes.) I rode the demonstrator Euro5+ V85 and was totally smitten. I wasn’t that keen on the sport corsa so swapped it for my 6th V85.
I now have the V85 euro5+ and the Stelvio. Both great bikes and very different. If I had to choose one at this time I’m not sure which one it would be.

Wow , im slightly thinking about v85tt No2 but only if a get to test ride the new vvt version and its much much better at low speeds (mine is a pig under 20mph and getting right on my bloody wick) also been told by two different people who have ridden the 2024 vvt version that the gearbox is radically different, as in smooth as butter. Test ride will be very interesting.

I bet your dealer loves you…

Sparkieb, I swapped a 2012 Stelvio for the new V85 Strada. I’ve not had any issues at slow speeds, right down to walking pace.

Have you test rode one yet?

No test ride yet, and im at the point where i think i will just live with it. I love riding my tt its just the days when it drives me nuts that get me thinking its going for something else. I have got a work-around for mini-roundabouts in that i dip the clutch and coast around then accelerate away. Not ideal but smoother. New (to us) car means all extra funds are spent, and its something ive got to live with now.

As you must have ridden pretty much every iteration of the v85tt, have you noticed any improvement in the ride quality with the latest variant?
My one short test ride of an early (2019 or 2020) second hand one left me unimpressed with the front fork action in particular. I knew that the engine performance was going to be a bit lacking compared to my Stelvio, so expected that.

Thanks
