40 odd years later…

Sometime in the late 70’s I pulled up on my MZ Simson outside the Grimsby branch of Comet and stood gawping at a 750s3.
To this day, it remains my all-time favourite motorsickle. Fast forward a decade… (or four+) and a whole gaggle of motorcycles, and finally last week I collected my own Guzzi, maybe not quite as achingly cool as the s3, but close enough for me, I have a lovely V7 Classic (in black).
So far I ve spent far more time looking at it than riding, but it’s definitely fun and I look forward to getting out and about.
I’ve always bought motorcycles to use as a tool, my current mainstay being another V-Twin, a Suzuki Vstrom (which having ridden year in, year out, summer and winter since my Simson days, is probably the most ‘competent’ motorcycle I’ve ever owned). As the missus and I have become more, er… ‘mature and experienced’, we were looking for something easier to climb aboard for ‘everyday’ use, the Vstrom will likely remain our go-to choice for European Tours as it’s soo damn useable, (and more spacious for our ‘comfortable physiques’), but the Guzzi will certainly get well used. Can’t wait, Mick

Congrats on your new V7 and welcome Mick! It’s a great bike and will make a nice change to your V Strom. Here’s to
many happy miles on your very own Guzzi!

The good thing is you are now a Guzzi owner. I know what you mean by looking at the V7 classic a lot. (I have got one myself). Get out there and enjoy this weather while you can.
