750 Targa 93 Cylinder head

Wanted - RH cylinder head for Targa 750 93. Plug thread gone and already been replaced with a helicoil, also gone

You can buy a repair kit that threads an insert into the plug hole rather than a helicoil. I was going to suggest the Timesert ones, but that kit is over £300.
Maybe a local garage might have one and would do it for you for a reasonable price.

Hi Nik. Thats very kind of you. I think its already had a Timesert in it. Just about to remove the cylinder head. I am in Salisbury

ok, well i have a few s/h Cylinder heads so i will see if one is for a 750!

A Timesert insert is different to a helicoil.
A Timesert is a metal sleeve that is threaded on the inside and outside. The hole is drilled and tapped slightly oversize and the sleeve is screwed into the head. The plug then screws into the new sleeve.
A helicoil is like a wire spring that is wound into a slightly oversized thread in the head.

If, as i assume you have a white painted engine, then yes, i have a R/H Cylinder Head.

That is great Nik. Could I get that from you? Happy to collect. What money would you want for it? Do I need new valves etc?

Ok, give me a day or two to pull it off the engine and check it over and then i’ll get back to you with a price once i’ve established its good!

Brilliant, thankyou Nik

I have PM’ed you.

Regards, Nik
