Hi, anyone know the difference between 950 pistons marked A and B?
I have a spare set of barrels and pistons , (barrels marked A pistons marked A, low compression type) Moto Renzo are selling high compression type pistons but they are marked with a B, will they work in my barrels marked A?
Phil
It’s production tolerance bands for matching to barrels. The dimensions are in the factory manuals. If you are putting them into used barrels I think they will be fine.
Looking at some info it seems that the difference between A and B is .01mm …

Beaware that the toerance doubles if mismatched. I.e. grade A cylinder with grade B piston. Manual says always match but as stated above if used barrels measure, particularly if steel and not nikasil, and take a view then.
Barrels definitely not steel, will get the pistons and take the lot over to see a Man who knows how to measure thing properly,
thanks for the replies👍
