Alternative Manual petcocks

So, my 2001 Cali EV came with the screw type manual petcock. The one that gutsibits sell. It ‘sort of’ works if you take a pair of pliers to it, it is possible to get it to shut off/on. Thing is you can never quite tell whether it’s half open, fully open, shut or not. Basically it does not work very well and seems a bit crap :joy:. Interestingly the other Cali in the shed has the same tap and that one has the same issues.

I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations

for alternatives? I have looked around but have yet to find one with the spigot in the correct orientation. I would really like to find a traditional lever petcock. As in the ones with on/ off/ reserve settings, so I am wondering if anyone else has managed to find or adapt one?

The M16x1.00mm thread is the std thread size for most Guzzi’s, so thats not a problem , but the Outlet size is. As far as im aware; ive been selling Guzzi parts and working on them for the past 20 years; there is no alternative (im sure somebody will come along and disprove that) other than to step down the hose size. Alternatively you could take it apart; there is a circlip you can remove to facilitate dis-assembly; lubricate everything and see what happens!

The nearest ‘normal’ Tap would probably be a V50 Tap. Correct Thread and rear outlet but 7.5mm.
