As much as i would love to pay £250 inc brackets for OEM lights? Was wondering if anyone fitted alternatives with a lower current drain, which are more realistically priced?
Cheers Tonybrode
i bought the guzzi ones but the dealer said givi do a cheaper set that are good
Thanks for heads up
they dont need the brackets if you have engine bars as they clip onto the bars, givi do cheaper engine bars too i think.
i got my MG fog lights 100 off and the engine bars free so worked out worth having the stock items for me
Just gone for some Aluminium housed 40w low energy loading lights, complete with harness and brackets.
Will give an update when they arrived. Got engine bars thrown in with bike, so hopefully will mount directly.
Good info re cheaper alternatives and fixing, cheers
I am trying to fit non-guzzi spots to my v85tt, as between them they draw only 2a (24w) i was going to run them without the relay but i want a bit of advice re the wiring.
On the three way plug under the left front cover i can see that blue is earth and green has power as soon as the ignition is on. From the wiring diagram it looks like green/yellow is the switched power that triggers the relay. So in theory i should be able to run the spots between green/yellow and blue. But that does not work & and the voltage on green/yellow seems to fluctuate - has anyone else done this successfully?
why do you want to bypass the relay if the light switch on the handlebar is wired to use it ?
As far as i can see from the ‘fitting Guzzi lights instructions’ and the wiring diagram the relay comes with the fog-light kit and plugs into that 3 way and then to the lights.
My bike is an e5.
Fuse C (lights foglights & horn) is intact.
The foglights work when attached to earth (blue) and the green (switched power) wire.
But not when attached to the blue and green/yellow wire.
Have tried with switch in any position and with engine off or on - no light.
Can any one spot (lol) what i have done wrong?
