Hi I am about to become a very proud owner of a new V100 Mandello, I am hoping to be receiving the bike by the end of this week all being well. This will be my first Guzzi however I have been a long time fan. I am coming from a BMW R1200RS that has been an excellent bike but lacks a bit sole which I am sure the V100 will have in spades. I look forward to conversing with you all over the coming weeks and months.
Welcome, to what may be a more ‘immersive’ experience than you’ve been used to.!
I bet your area offers some interesting riding, I travelled up the A68 last week en route to the Highlands, even that more ‘major route’ was far more interesting than the usual alternatives north from here in the flatlands of Lincolnshire (though I was heading up there for work so in a hire car, which was probably a good job last week).
(Also… I think you may have brought down the average age of members considerably… )
That made me smile that I am bringing the average age down! Sadly we are a dying breed Yes, I live in a beautiful part of the country for riding the A68 is a great road on a bike , but I am also close to Hartside and near the borders which offer some fantastic rides too. I am looking forward to the Guzzi experience the V100 in my eyes is just stunning lets hope I can get on with it (I am sure I will)
Yes the Stelvio is lovely looking machine as well. For me sadly far to tall I have stupidly short legs 29" inseam so struggle on most bikes to be honest. If the V100 is difficult to manage there is always the low seat option, the 1200RS I can manage fine which is a similar seat height I think.
It will be arriving on Thursday afternoon all being well, I am like a kid in a sweet shop lets hope they don’t drop it like they did my Fireblade getting it out of the van!
Well finally got a ride on my new bike and I love it. I was worried after the BMW it might not live up to my expectations, I was wrong if anything its better. I think the suspension is amazing on the Guzzi mind you my R1200RS was ten years old so I am sure advances have been made there now as well. Pic below of new bike
Congratulations on the new bike. Like you I love the A68. When I was a lad that was my “Go to” road on a weekend on my Bonnie. I’ve travelled on it in recent years on my Guzzi V7 Special (1971) and shall again this coming summer when I’m back home to Northumberland. Enjoy the new bike !!
