That’s who did mine, still going great after another 10,00 miles
Didn’t do a Spectral check on it, but ran it through the finest filter medium they have, micro-scoped it, and found nothing, nada, niets, rien, gar nichts!
Call it denial if you like, but I’m not worrying about it at all. Â Â

I haven’t taken part in any forums for a long time. Let’s just say I’m fed-up with lack of official support for Guzzi customers who need it – and so it has been for a long time. As has oft been repeated, there are a very-few good dealers in UK, but most of us have to survive disasters without Guzzi system care and certainly no local dealer/service agent. My experience has been that Piaggio UK care next to nothing for customers (or even for their agents). Piaggio are interested in making initial sales, full stop. Well that situation has been well covered on forums over the years.
I had to renew Club membership and so have looked here while logged in. I see the same problems as always, though I did not know that Guzzi are supplying roller conversions. I’m tickled by the comment in this thread about spectral analysis of sump oil to see if there might be any particulate in it. There was certainly no need for such precision instrumentation when examining my oil after the tappet/cam ‘fix’. I’ll see if I can attach some photos here of the lumpy debris that has turned up in the sump oil at changes. This is after a ‘service agent’ did the ‘fix’ and swore that the bike was good as new and the oil ways were sparkling clean. Of course the Piaggio ‘aftercare’ head honcho, when I eventually found a way to make contact, also swore the procedure is foolproof. I have shown him these pictures, but there is no follow up, no interest, no visit, no nothing. Well, let the photos speak: no filters needed to find this stuff.
__ OK I see that only three photos will upload in the comment here, so I have put some pics in a Dropbox folder and if you are interested I hope that you can access them via the link. Here’s the Dropbox link anyway > https://www.dropbox.com/sh/l5dnxyuc50swy5c/AAC270eoTOXSQv6__b_bD1Iya?dl=0
Hiya Belfast…just wondered if you are aware of the problems Keith and Sue Nock had with Piaggio…which was written up in Gambo…
Think Guzzi will only cough up for the cost of the parts for a roller conversion if your flat tappets have failed and you have full service history. They won’t pay for a preventative conversion. No Guzzi dealer in Ireland now so fairly academic for me.
TLM sell camshaft kits which I believe are roller cam, either search for camshaft kit or this link:-http://www.tlm.nl/webshop/en/camshaft-kit-c-griso-8v-08-10-1a002082-moto-guzzi
