Back to guzzi after 30 years..

Hi all, when i rode around London in my old v50, things were a bit different..but its still top fun to throw the leg over an Italian vee twin..after years of jap stuff..cbrs, gsxs, gpzs, fzrs..all great fun..it was getting a little jaded..so a lovely 2009 breva 1100 has filled the bill..originally registered in uk, imported to Ireland t years ago..clean and low miles, black, with panniers..all this for 4000.euro..such value..did part of the ring of kerry last sunday..all lovely..the sound and feel are a bit addictive..was buzzing around on a honda vtr for a bit lately, a really tight bike, but cramped.
Anyway, enough gab..nice to be here, enjoying the site, cheers, dan

Welcome back..
I’ve only been over to Ireland once, and that was for work, but managed to convince my boss I was better off travelling on my motorcycle rather than flying.. wow Ireland is such a great place to explore on a motorcycle..
Enjoy your return, I reckon you’ve an ideal tool for the roads over there :+1:

Welcome back to the fold! Once bitten…

Welcome back. I am on my second Breva 1100. Great bikes.

Thanks…when we get the weather its lovely..the roads can be a bit challenging thošŸ˜€..was tooling about on a vtr 1000 for a while..unbearable…breva is a joy..and who doesn’t love an Italian girl😊

Once bitten indeed…bizarrely the fetish started from reading bike magazine road tests..the old days of ogrišŸ˜..those testers loved the v50s, le mans…i was smitten..and they looked handsome ..so here we are 35 yrs on..still smitten..thankfully with the few quid and health to enjoy it..

Lovely..im really looking forward to the summer..anything in particular I need to look out for with them?..mine is a uk import..18 k kms..unsure on any history..i really don’t like the bars, look chopperish, find them high..any ideas…?..any particular weaknesses?….by and large its a fun bike for a blast..

Not much to worry about really. Sometimes some of the LEDs pack up on the dash. There is a company that can fix them if that happens though. On my last one I had a bevel box seal leak whilst on tour in Italy, but it was easily sorted.
I do my own servicing, which is fairly easy. The inner plugs take some getting to, but don’t need changing very often. I do mine every 12000 miles.
I find the riding position very comfortable, so haven’t changed the bars. It might be worth looking at another Breva as some folks change them to the higher Norge Bars, Yours might have been done
One of the best bikes I have owned
