Battery recommendations

guzzibear, thanks for the info. I was of the understanding though that AGM batteries retain their charge very well and therefore don’t need to be kept on a tender unless there is a constant drain on them from a clock or alarm or similar? The Westco batteries that I have aren’t left on a tender and in Winter I charge them approx once a month, up to now with no probs although there are none of the above “drainers” on my machines. The link below explains how to recover an agm battery when it “wont accept charge” and is effectively dead.http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/general/hrdp_1009_how_to_charge_a_agm_battery/viewall.html At risk of contaminating this thread (I will start a new one if deemed to do so), has anybody any experience of using Gutsibits “HICAP Starting Upgrade Kit.” It seems a bit expensive but the battery leads on my bike are old and I was wondering if these are worth the extra cash?

Not used them when I replaced my leads on the V1000 just went and bought some red and black Battery cable, copper core and made my own to length, never have a problem starting, unless the flippin relay fails, I actually carry a spare relay nowadays and made the other one so it is easy to get at and swap, saved my bacon year before last on the way home from Wales atopped for fuel, …click no start, popped up the seat , swapped the relay and all good

Not since he did his back in. +1 for Tanya: http://www.tayna.co.uk/895-Enduroline-Lawnmower-Battery-310-CCA-P8379.html
