I’m trying to replace the oil seals in the bevel drive of my Breva 750.
I’ve got most of it apart, and would like to remove the outer part of the roller bearing so I can replace the smaller oil seal. The instructions say I need Guzzi tool 19927500 to pull this out, as seen in YouTube video Small Block 750 Service Part 3, at 5:25
My questions are:
1 Is there a way of removing the bearing surface without using the Guzzi tool?
2 If not, does anyone have this tool that I could borrow (posted, I assume) ?
3 If not, does the owners club have a library of Guzzi special (expensive) tools that we can borrow from?
Hi Dougie, I think I understand what you are doing, I recently replaced the inner seal on my T3 and had the same problem, getting the bearing outer ring from the bevel casting,
I found that if you heat the casting with a blow torch allowing the heat to travel to the bearing ring, then hit the casting down onto a large piece of softwood this jars the bearing ring out.
I also found that heating the casting then cooling the ring with a cold wet cloth helped.
Obviously you will need a good pair of gloves for handling the housing,
good luck Roy.
Yes, that’s right, The inner part of bearing 5 is a press-fit onto part 16 (I’ve got them apart) and the outer part is pressed into part 1. It’s this that I’m trying to remove.

Yes, I’ll give that a try. The aluminium casting will expand more than the steel bearing, and (depending on tolerances) it might be shocked out.
Thanks for the advice.

Blind bearing puller eh? Didn’t know it existed, it looks similar to the Guzzi special tool, cheaper too, and multi-sized.
I’ll get one tomorrow and try it out.
Thank you for that. The more I fix, build and repair, the more I realise I don’t know.

Blind bearing puller fitted, hammered, nothing moved. Heated to 45 deg C in the oven, and the bearing shell came out nicely. Thanks for the advice.
