Where: Zoom Webinar presented by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport UK
Speaker: Kamran Irani, Chairman SERV Ox Bucks Berks N’hants Blood Bikes

Kamran Irani is the Chairman of SERV – (Service by Emergency Volunteer Riders) – better known as ‘Blood Bikes’.
SERV are a volunteer organisation that supports NHS Hospitals in the Oxford, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Northamptonshire area by using its dedicated fleet of motorcycles and 4 x 4 vehicles to provide a rapid response courier service, out of hours, delivering blood products to the point of need. They also provides support for the neonatal units collecting and delivering human milk to give premature babies the best start in life.

Kamran will outline how Blood Bikers have responded to dramatic changes in customer requirements through the Pandemic and how they are looking forward to the future.

SERV OBN is a registered Charity and depends solely on public donations, you might have seen them about, but as they operate generally at night they are not the best know volunteer organisation, but they are vital. Despite being run by volunteers, they pride themselves on providing a professional life-saving logistics service, they’re trained to a very high standard and continually monitor their activities to ensure they maintain those standards. Many have also been trained in F.P.O.S. (First Person on Scene) responders. The fact their service is FREE is just the icing on the cake!

Like many Blood Bike groups across the UK, SERV continue to provide services to the NHS Free of charge, including transportation of urgent samples for testing and analysis. Due to current Government restrictions their normal fundraising events have had to be suspended.
