My Cali has wobbly MudGuard and I have tried a number of options to hold the thing down, but I am at a loss???
the outside has a bolt and this is roughly about an inch long and hold the plastic part on, I got a much longer bolt in the hope that it can go through, but it only goes in so far.
I have tried coming from the inside bu it does not seem to want to go in?
I have tried a num,ber of various bolts, but I just dont seem to be able to find the right parts.
Does anyone know what is needed to fix the rear mudguard properly?
Are you a ânew ownerâ @FatRakoon ? - if so, and forgive me if this is âsucking eggsâ territory, but the most useful advice I got when I got my first Guzzi was to download the free parts manuals (many sources). In my case, I discovered that also downloading those for other models showed me where there were common parts, perhaps with different part numbers, which all helped with sourcing missing/broken bits.
Yeah, I got a manual, plus I have downloaded the manual ( actually a few of them ).
I have tried a number of bolts and so I guess I am just hitting something thats stopping me from being successful.
I do have issues with my back, legs and my left arm and so, its difficult for me to get up and down onto the floor, so thats not helping.
The pic of the bolt⌠ok thanks of course, but what size is it? I will keep on trying LOL
And new owner? No, not really, but this bike is indeed new to me.
I bought it about January lat year and its not needed me to do anything, until I took it for an MOT and then as if by Magic, loads of problems came up that I never had before?
The Mudguard was hanging off, the handlebars were broken, all 3 disks and all the brake pads needed replacing, the shocks were worn out, etc etc etc and so I decided to bring it home to sort out and yeah, the disks are perfect, very little wear, the pads are fine as are the shocks⌠tiny bit of rust sure, but thats all, the mudguard has obviously lost the bolts, but when I dropped it off, it was solid, as was the handlebar. Clearly they tried pulling one, so that means I will NEVER go back to LMC in Llandudno again.
As it happens, I decided to take my mudguard off today to treat the rust. Until I saw Niks post I thought that the head of the bolt was a weld nut and I was convinced the was a bolt under the relflector , which I was about to pointlessly rip off. Thanks Nik.
Note this is not a standard bolt, it has very thin head. I show a âstandardâ shallow head bolt for comparison. Westfield Fasteners stock these.
