Brake linkage thread

I posted a while ago about a problem I have getting my foot over the back brake of my Monza. As a solution a friend of mine is going to fabricate a longer brake linkage for me from stainless steel. His question is what thread does it use? M7 looks like the right option, but he’s not convinced that the thread is ‘standard’ M7 1mm pitch. Some forum wisdom would be appreciated!! TIA

Vernier calipers and thread pitch gauges are your friends.

A couple from eBay at random. For less than £15.00 will be able to measure all the threads on your bike.

Thread pitch gauges really are your friend. Clean as much rust off the threads as you can before trying the gauges. My money is on M7 x 1.25.
