Looking at Gregory Bender’s site, it looks like I’m going to have to buy or make some sort of device to spread new brake shoes apart when installing.

Just wondering what other people use.
Would a coil spring compressor work okay ?
Thanks.

The ratchet strap method looks good to me. Simple and cheap.

I did my rear shoes recently by assembling the shoes/springs and then loading it all onto the backplate. I clamped it to my old Black & Decker Workmate and used that to stretch the springs enough.

I’ve found a different solution that I might try.
I’ve several similar clamps lying around.
