Hi. I love my Breva but of course the old lights are very dim. My question is this, has anyone been able to upgrade the bulb or while headlight? Where did they buy it from? That kind of thing, I’m happy to let my excellent local mechanic so it but he’ll want me to locate the kit. Help needed please. Max
I always use Osram Nightbreaker bulbs in my bikes. A much brighter, whiter light, and if the reflector in the headlamp is good/reasonable, a very useful upgrade for not much cash. Completely legal too.
Also double check that your headlight cables are in good condition, and that any plugs/sockets in their supply path are clean and tightly mated.
Good quality LED bulbs (e.g. Auxito) give a nice beam and pass MOT in my experience. E.g. Ebay Auxito H4 Some Guzzi headlight shells (e.g. Griso & V7) are very shallow and some LED bulbs are deeper than fliament ones, but a friend solved that by bending the 3 terminals outwards and use spade connectors
I’d recommend the Nightbreaker too. When I bought my Breva 750ie it was fitted with an aftermarket LED headlamp which I never really cared for and it had an extra switch on the handlebars too! I switched back to the original housing (also supplied with the bike) and changed the original bulb for the OSRAM and it made a huge improvement and uncluttered my handlebars. Go for it.
