Cali 1100 Carbed - Gear indicator?

My old Yamaha Fazer had a Gear indicator displaying what Gear I was in.

Weirdly, I have never cared for this one bit, until now I dont have one, I am missing it.

Can I get one on the Cali?

It might be useful for when I somehow manage to find one of the gears among all the neutrals!

Seriously though, how do they fit and are they a good idea on the guzzi?

You should know that Guzzis are famous for having more neutrals than gears.

If your vision blurs then change up. If it chugs and splutters change down.

Blurred Vision = Up, Chugging = Down. CHECK!

You know… as much as I am having a giggle at that… We both kind of know that its actually sound advise on a Guzzi! LOL

HAHA Poor guy… He only has 4 neutrals…

I see your 4 and raise you … Well… A lot… A Very lot.

Actually, this is typical Guzzi behaviour!

I{ asked a question about gear indicators and its turned into a mickey take on how many neutrals we have! - I love it.

Get a T3 cali mate it only has three-quarters of a neutral :face_with_raised_eyebrow: lurking between 1st and 2nd somewhere - plus a little light to hint you might be close! to finding it.

Ah, I think mine has one between 1st and 2nd too!
I have had a couple of moments of fun, and I have opened her up a little bit here and there and I have found that sometimes, getting her into first, can be a little iffy and so I often have to feather the clutch to make sure she is in, or I will be revving like a nipple instead of moving off, and also going from 2nd to 3rd it can slip and again find a neutral and rev like a bellend.

I am simply making sure that each gear change is a long, and deliberate process to make sure that I have fully clicked her into the gear required… Almost taking enough time to make a cuppa while I am doing it, and that way I find it does bypas the neutrals better.

Also, it has half a dozen links for the gearing and so thats not helping either!

I find that lightly pre-loading the pedal before shifting and a deliberate movement rather than snatching at it works for me! also never need the clutch when shifting 3rd to 4th or 4th to 5th. all about knowing your own bike i guess!.
