cali' 3 front mudguard brake line holder

My brake hoses can rub against the paintwork, the previous owner cable tied some rubber at the point of contact. The mudguard has rubber blanking plugs fitted into the holes where I assume some form of plastic brake line support fitted. What are these called, so at least I can search for the corect 9ish) item, or where can I get them?

Cable guideAny good for you? Might need to check the size of the hole in the mudguard

There should be chrome plates on top of the rubbers, and then stainless steel loop guides which carry the cables. I made new plates out of stainless. I should ring Guy at Gutsibits, he’ll know what they are if not what they’re called, and probably have some on a shelf…

look here

If you find a source can you let me know please? My Cali is the same with the blanking plugs and the cables chaffing against the mudguard

I had the same problem with my Cal3 when I had it. I seem to remember upgrading to braided lines and used angled banjos rather than the straight end, so that you could angle the line away from the mudguard slightly.

There is a thingy in the link above described as “brake line eyelet” dunno if it is any good

I wonder if this will work…

ignore this post, next one is itMcFuzzi2013-10-22 17:48:13

Thank Greg Bender, not me

Thanks chaps, the hole in the mudguard is Ø5mm. Mcfuzzi, not my mudguard!1150GS2013-10-22 18:36:14

Sorry, I don’t know all the variations of the glitzybling Guzzi Calis, & assumed an EV was like a 3. Greg also has the 2 on his site, but not the threeparts manualMcFuzzi2013-10-22 23:07:26

My thoughts are that as the mudguard only has a Ø5mm hole, I doubt if this would be substantial enough to support a brake line eyelet.

-so you could drill a 2nd hole to fit the system used on the other Cali’s, which works great.

Drill a hole in my Cali’ Anything is possible I suppose

Sorry but that really tickled me Slight diversion, going back to the Gutsibits page, I was struck by the following 'mudguard extenders', what can't they make the 'guards big enough in the first place? Trying to conserve plastic or summink Bluddy daft fashions so help me .....

Ah Mike, I won’t throw anything away, even one of my worst attempts at a post on the forum.
No one seems to want a cracked throttle body cover, I’ll have to use it on the scarecrow.
