These are the rear shocks on my 2001 California Special Sport which I take to be stock. They give very little in way of suspension or damping. There are cut-outs top and bottom to accept a C spanner but you can turn them freely by hand with no effect on the pre-loading of the springs. There is a knurled knob on the bottoms of the shocks which I believe are to adjust damping, but turning them seems to have little effect. Am I missing something or are my shocks just knacked?
