California 3 forks compared to 1100 Cali'

When I replaced a stanchion a while ago, I was a bit shocked to find that there are no bushes in the lower fork, some wear was evident in the top bore.

My question is, do the later 1100 Cali’s have bushed forks, that have the possibility to be replaced when worn?

This will probably never happen, but I’m curious.

(Peter, not Uki:)
I’ve never had my fork legs apart (1996 N-reg 1100i, owned from new until this spring), but cannot imagine that they are different on the inside as the outside is identical (got a Cali 3, L-reg, in the garage as well…). Mind you, one never knows with Guzzi… Maybe a compatibility check on the Stein-Dinse website might help? Or comparing the Spares diagrams on their website? That should show up any differences!

Steine Rinse, good idea, I’ll look. Thanks

Never taken my Cali forks apart, but have rebuilt my 78 Spada ones before now. They have no bushes. The stanchion just runs in the alloy lower fork leg.
Mine felt terible when I reassembled everything, resembling my old worn out Bantams from years ago. I asked about this on here and opinion was this is quite normal. I was told to top them up with the necessary quantity of auto transmission fluid and sure enough all movement disappeared.

The simplest way is to check the two parts book. If the part numbers are the same the legs will be the same, if not, they will be different.
