Hope I have not goofed! Been browsing centre stand for the Mandello and not quite ready to pay upwards of 175 quid, some over 200.
Today came across an offer on Stein Dinse for a Zeiger/Ibex version that appears identical to the OEM offering. On the pdf appears to be a carbon copy? Price? £133 and change including shipping! Anyone else gone for this I wonder?
Anyway decided to take a punt. Will see how long it takes for delivery and update on whether a good deal or a goof on my part. Wish me luck!
Well, update sooner than expected!! Just received an email from Stein Dinse and apparently no stock! No information available on when that might be resolved so I have cancelled the order. “Dagnammit” as Yosemite Sam used to say!
I guess the old saw “if it seems too good to be true etc.” holds here.
I have to give kudos to SD though for such prompt communication and processing.
Guess I will keep browsing meantime.

I’ve got oem on my V100S but my previous bike (Multistrada) I baulked at the cost of the centre stand and bought an after market version from China. The quality was ok and as long as I gave it a decent coat of hammerite on a yearly basis it lasted the entire time I had the bike (5 yrs). You never know until you try.

Yeah I am not against going for a non OEM version but not impressed by the Motech version.
The one on Stein Dinse, essentially a straight copy pattern part looks good and will await that being back in stock. Problem at the moment is I am skint!
Every previous centre stand I have ever had no matter how good quality have always benefitted from a bi yearly rub down and Hammerite treatment. They catch every bit of weather and crud imaginable. For now I just have to keep my eyes off my piggy bank and don’t expect to be super active for the winter anyway. Patience is not my strong suit!

I got into the habit of tie wrapping some clear plastic tube around the cross bar on centre stands as that where most of the stones hit. It seems to work well. I bought a new Triumph Tiger 900 last year and Triumph have already done that for me!

Well, I caved in today having failed to completely solve the problem of being able to use my Skylift.
Despite being skint just ordered the OEM stand from Holland for £169.
Last one there apparently and these things clearly sell fast and furious.. at quite a bit more!
Anyway, at least I can now check my oil without an apprentice or dangerous acrobatics.
The austerity regime continues however. Duh!
with a V85 oil reads much lower on centre stand than on the wheels. i suspect that’s why dealers overfilled the last 2 services I got, they are reflling on centre stand instead of on the wheels.

Hmm I will bear that tip in mind Sid! Get me a reference point for what is right. Thanks!
Update. New centre stand arrived yesterday and plan to fit tomorrow. Arrived already assembled which is nice and this is a seriously weighty chunk of kit! Much heavier quality than centre stands I have fitted before.
Instructions supplied predictably minimal and purely catoon/pictorial. However found an absolutely excellent ‘how to’ on an adv rider site (see link) and hoping I can achieve a result even with the bike on the side stand as I don’t possess a rear paddock stand.

Got the stand fitted yesterday and just sitting with the sidestand long as able or prepared to get horizontal on the floor! Definitely loosen all three footrest bracket bolts just for wiggle.
Only additional tip re fitting the return spring. Forget pullers or ratchet straps etc. All you need is a large size Phillips screwdriver ‘cos it’s tapered at the end. Hook it in the lower spring hook and put the screwdriver tip behind the tang on the stand where the spring locates. Give it a push on driver handle and the spring stretches easy peasy! Small hammer handy to tap the spring inwards off the end of the screwdriver. Done!
Now saving pennies for the Oxford heat grips!

Had one fitted to my v100, oem only.
Looking at the mounting points on the engine casings, I wouldn’t risk a aftermarket part.
I also had a guzzi rack fitted at the same time. Your right arm is a bit out stretched putting the bike on the centre stand
Yeah the one I got was genuine Guzzi part. Found it cranks up pretty easy really and nice solid stance. Happy! Not so much with the Hotgrips! Story elsewhere here but short version is they died despite being working after fitting. Communications with Oxford ongoing and waiting further response this week hopefully.
