Anyone here applied for one from the vintage Piaggio dept?
I applied on 6th July but still nothing.
Managed to speak to them last week and they confirmed they had received the application but couldn’t say when it will progress.
Friend of mine got one in 2 weeks!
Last year I applied for one for my Breva 750 when I moved to France. It took a little while to get an email to the right place, after trying via the Piaggio website form first. I can’t remember the exact details right now, but I think I’ve got some notes somewhere!
I remember sending notes to Uki about it. Uki? Do you still have them. Sorry to be a bit vague about it, but have had a change of PC since then, and am still getting sorted.

An update:
Four weeks ago received an email from Piaggio vintage explaining that due to not being able to contact (??) me they couldn’t issue the COC. I called them and asked for an explanation, they said they assumed I had applied for the London ULEZ! I explained it was to export the bike and they apologised and said they’d get on it and get straight back to me.
Two weeks later I called them and they said due to the age of the bike they couldn’t issue a COC but would issue a certificate of origin.
Two weeks later I called again and got no help.
Then I received a call from Piaggio UK asking if they could help. I explained the situation, and a couple of hours later they got back to me requesting the homologation number (new subject) of the frame. They now have this and fingers crossed…
This is the text of the reply I had from ‘vintage_piaggiogroup@piaggio.com’
“Hello,
Following your request in subject ,
We inform you to register vehicle in France wants Annexe II ,
For issue Annexe II we need the photos of the whole vehicle , the frame number, the manufacture plate , the copy of the old vehicle’s document.
Regards.

After sending off the various photos and scans, and payment, I waited for a while, sent a follow up email to the above address, and eventually received the COC via DHL. I think it was 130 euro.

Hi,
I need a COC for a 1980 SP1000 that I recently acquired. It was imported from the USA by the previous owner who never got around to registering it. I believe I need the COC for the V5 application. Does anyone have one or know how I can obtain one?
Cheers
Jon
I don’t think you need (or will be able to get) a COC for a 1980 bike. It relates to motorcycle type approval, which was not mandatory then as far as I know.
I would just mark Exempt in the relevant box on the V55 form.
OK thanks for the advice!
I’m still waiting, applied in July last year!
Have to have it to import bike to Greece.
What bike is it for lemon?
1982 G5
Had hoped to have received the coc as bike is in Greece and now technically illegal
I tried to get on the Piaggio documentation site and it was down. Maybe they are having problems with this department.
This is what my son said when he tied to contact Piaggio
*"Here is the link to the online portal, available in multiple languages including Italian, German & English. *
https://service.piaggiogroup.com/Vintage/richdetail.asp?L=EN&B=Guzzi
Remember to take a note of the confirmation number on the screen, because it is not repeated in any email confirmation or such. They are not the quickest so be patient for response, or try your luck with 0039 (0) 654547301, but the English is limited there."
Also the requrements to register a bike varies vastly from country to country. I can only tell you with France as we are just going through it again (past Brexit things have changed quite a bit).
