I have a v50 mk2 and the choke lever will only stay in the full on or off position so you cant leave it in the halfway while it warms up. Its the
original choke. is this normal.
Sounds normal to me. They are not really “chokes” but enriching devices which open up an extra fuel supply for cold starting. So either on or off.
I did modify mine to use a handlebar lever, which did allow any position from closed to full open. requires the lever control and a custom cable kit. Pretty sure it was a Doherty, like this …
Thanks Mike that mod seems to be the best plan.
My V50 II needs the full choke to start when cold but almost immediately will run with the choke off. I have never felt the need to use a half choke position.
