Clutch push rod seals.

Re photo, I’m told that the pushrod seals should be fitted thin ends together (looks like a bobbin when fitted, if that makes sense…Not sure why this should make a difference though…

The photo is how mine came out and is how I fitted the new ones when it went back together. As GTM says, some do recommend replacing the conical seals with O rings, I decided to stick with the standard set up.Personal opinion I guess as to which is best.

I’ve had a close look at my microfiche and it looks as if both seals are fitted with the wide end to the front of the bike as shown in the photo above.

It is a good point Have to say on all the miles on a 37 yr old bike I can only remember replacing these 3 or 4 and one of those was due to taking the clutch and stuff apart , the rubber “O” ring around the bearing has I think been done 2-3 times and I have had the actual bearings replaced 3x

I must be lucky I guess.

I do tend to be one of those “If it ain’t broke …don’t fix it types” mainly cos when I have the time I don’t have the dosh and when I have the dosh I do NOT have the time.guzzibear2012-09-05 10:57:17
