I have an oil leak from the clutch actuator and intend to replace the o ring (part 11) and do the thrust bearing (part 9) while its apart. My question relates to the “rubber tube” or “conical bush” that goes between the inner part of the clutch pusher and the rod. Not sure which of these mine has fitted. Its part 7 in both of the attached pictures below.
My question is
-
Are the “conical bush” and “rubber tube” parts interchangeable
-
Does this play any part in the oil tightness of the clutch actuator.
-
Can it be replaced from the back of the gearbox
Thanks
Russell
I have replaced the O ring number 11 on one or two of my bikes and it has always fixed the oil leak problem. I think you will struggle to get the actual push rod out? A magnet on a stick might pull it out, I have never had need to do the cones apart from when I had the whole gearbox out.

Kind of what I thought
, I do have a very powerful stick magnet, I’ll give it a go. If it wont come out, I’ll just do the o ring seal on the plunger. The o ring seems to last about four years then starts leaking again.

I used a stick magnet and it pulled the push rod out with its two seals still in place no problem. I used the magnet to remove the thrust bearing and part 8 too - the thrust bearing fell apart as it came out. It’s all back together with new seals and thrust bearing now, so hopefully no more mess down the back of the gearbox.
