Does your trusty steed sometimes bog down a little when you set off from the lights on an uphill slope? Mine did on occasion and it turns out to be the ATF pump pressure regulating spring, which had weakened over 36 years of sterling service (does nothing last…!) Most will know this sits behind a cap on the timing cover, and holds a ball in place to regulate pressure. The good news is this spring is still produced as it has other applications in more modern Guzzis and is available here.
