Hi, I have a 1990 carb Cali III, recently purchased. I was planning on doing a retro fit on tank and seat, using a T3 or similar tank, side panels and a T3 california seat, most likely from a II. Are there any major mods to do? Also plan on fitting polished stainless mudguards, as rear has some cracks and defects.
The rear guard from a cali etc should fit okay, the front mudguard probably will as well, but the width may be slightly different, I would keep the Cali 3 fork brace as it adds rigidity to the front end.
The Cali 3 has a longer headstock than the ealier T3’s etc so the top yoke will sit slightly higher relative to the tank.

It is my understanding that the Cali2 seat is slightly longer than the T3 version, and (presumably) the rack (to which the seat fits) differs between the T3 and Cali2 models. In any case, all things are not equal in that respect.
