Hi, just adjusted valve clearances on 09 8v done nothing else now won’t start. Put it back in neutral after the job but no neutral light just side stand warning light, fuses under the seat are ok. Not touched electrics except plugs so can’t see what’s happened. Only got the bike yesterday so I don’t know it very well yet. Reposted as I put it in general by mistake.

Is it possible you are in a false neutral between 2nd and 3rd? Maybe try with the clutch pulled in , you never know as it may be that simple if you are lucky.

Does it normally start with the side stand down? Or only when you put it in gear with the stand down? Probably what Dukesox said above
