Dodgy E-mail Alert

One of our members has received an E-mail, supposedly from this forum.

Note!

We don’t have a subdomain of “mg.motoguzziclub.co.uk”, and we don’t have an email address of “motoguzziclub.co.uk@motoguzziclub.co.uk”. We suspect it’s a spoofed email address, and a phishing email (they’re trying to get members to click on a link and install software). Don’t go near it!

Do not follow the links in this post either!

Thanks Kevin.

Thanks for the info

Has it been reported to any spam or phishing report site? It’s the first thing I do if I get one.

Hi Mike,
Still learning this side of things.
Please pm me the wheres and hows.
Thanks

I’ve just realised it’s already been reported, to you.

To go further you need the ISP where the email originally came from, then report it to them, I usually Google for spam or phishing report page / email address of the company.

I forward mine to this site, its only up the road, and many of my clients work there and have explained what they do with them, quite often large sites get shut down because of these reports
just save the email addy and forward the spam on

some clever rascals however, put something in the background to prevent you forwarding it
then just take a screen grab and post that to them

Thanks I did see that when I was doing a search.

If the email is purporting to come from an actual company they probably a spam - phishing reporting link you could use, try Googling for it. I’ve had to do that a few times.
