At 77 i need it to stop it failing over! Usually need several attempts to kick it back, thanks for your reply though as it confirms that it is probably OK.

I recently heard an anecdote about a late branch member of ours. He rode a Cali with a holster, much like WLAs used for carrying machine guns. His held an umbrella. When he stopped, he pulled his umbrella to deploy the sidestand.
Pretty cool, actually.

For what its worth Im 6ft and I can only just hook a toe on the black rubber.
I still think it might break my ankle when it retracts.
Its like Arkwrights cash register!
I too have to use it to get on and off.
