Essex Branch Camping weekend - BOOKING INFORMATION

ESSEX BRANCH CAMPING WEEKEND – BOOKING INFORMATION

Friday 30th May to Sunday 1st June 2025 at the White Horse Inn, Mill Green, Edwardstone, Suffolk, CO10 5PX.

Tickets are £25 for the weekend (Friday to Sunday) or £12.50 or one night only.

This includes the cost of camping, unlimited tea, coffee, biscuits, cake and breakfast Saturday and Sunday (a hot/cold buffet selection of sausages, eggs, fruit, selection of breads, jams, cereal etc).

Electric Hook Up (EHU) is available to those that need it at £5 extra per night – please let me know if you want EHU so I can put you in the right pitch.

If you want to extend your stay and arrive earlier or stay a little longer, that is absolutely fine as well. Extra nights camping (without EHU) is £8 per person per night – please let me know if you want to take advantage as I will need to book you the right pitch for the extra days.

The pub is a really lovely country pub set in the Suffolk countryside with its own microbrewery. It serves a range of ales etc and does sell food too (quite posh but very nice pizza and platters). There may be a wagu burger van on site as well, but this is to be confirmed. Sudbury is only a few miles away with lots of places to get takeaways or shop at the supermarket if preferred. We will have our large green communal tent with cooking facilities if you prefer to cook yourself. The campsite is family and dog friendly with two basic male and two female showers, toilets, washing up area etc.

It’s a very friendly informal camping weekend where you can do as little or much as you like. We do have a casual plan for the weekend which is simply to meet up, set up and catch up with old friends and new on Friday night. We shall have a ride out on Saturday, followed by a very special Magic Show on Saturday Evening – by our very own famous unique and quirky Essex Branch entertainers. I may do a raffle if I can rustle up some prizes x

I’d be incredibly grateful if you could please apply for your ticket as soon as possible to help me with the booking arrangements. To apply for a ticket please email me on Yvonne.buxton@btinternet.com with your name, when you’re arriving and leaving and if you need EHU or not. If you’re coming with a campervan/caravan etc let me know so I can put you in the separate pitches rather than the group camping pitches. Once I get your message, I’ll send you an email reply by return to confirm your booking and the total price. I don’t do online banking etc so please bring cash and give it to me when you arrive (I’m collecting all the money and paying the pub on our behalf).

So, lots of information there I know – so the short and quick version of the booking information is:

  1. Email me (Yvonne.buxton@btinternet.com) with your name, how long you want to stay for, if you need EHU and you’re coming in a campervan/caravan.
  2. Bring cash and pay Evie on arrival x

I hope I’ve covered everything but any questions let me know.

With lots of love, Evie and the Essex Branch gang.

Essex Branch camping in Suffolk O well.

Unfortunately I couldn’t find a site in Essex that provided all the facilities we wanted at a reasonable cost, so this one, just a smidge over the border was the ideal choice. If you have better look finding an Essex site let me know, we’re always happy to consider all options x

Amazing a big County no facilities. I belong to the Kent branch could we attend or turn up on the day you have a ride out.

Hi Richard, Essex is certainly a great county and has alot to see and do. There probably is a campsite out there that I’ve yet to discover which could offer reasonable walking distance to the pub, shower/toilets etc all at a reasonable cost but I’ve not found it yet. So rather than do nothing, or limit those that might attend purely because of the cost, we are going to this lovely affordable pub, just a few miles over the border into Suffolk. Its really nice and has just won the best pub in Suffolk award too.

I think its fair to say, for most its just about meeting up with fellow Guzzi riders and having a good time - the location isn’t really a problem or consideration for us. As a branch we meet different locations and venues every month - we love the variety and it mixes it up a little.

The Whitehorse is a lovely pub to visit and you’re more than welcome to visit on the Saturday - understandably they won’t allow you on the camp field itself Richard, but there is plenty of public parking at the pub itself.

We hope to see you in the pub, ride safe, with love, Evie
