Hi to all.
Just wondering if, during oil changes of the gearbox and final drive does anybody use a flush if so what do you use?
With thanks
Russ
In my experience it can cause other problems; too many to list.
For the engine, to avoid the “blue-smoke-syndrome” simply get the oil hot, drain, remove the sump and give it a good clean, change the filter and re-assemble with a new gasket. Torque up and refill with a good quality oil of the correct grade.
Gearbox, and bevel box, simply drain and refill on main stand after getting them good and warm. Don’t rush to put the drain plugs back in; it is gloopy stuff.
Jobs a good’un!
