Yes this is the cap
Is the large O ring sitting in the cap level and are all the splines on the filler cap all there and level and not bent. The filler neck opening (has guides) looking down at it are they all level and not bent upwards. Here is my filler cap which is the same as yours.
Has the seal swelled. Can happen because of ethanol in the petrol. I had something similar happen on a 2000 BMW.
