Just an update. Whilst the obstruction to the gear linkage was a big improvement to up shifting I decided to flush the old fluid out. To my shame it was black with bits of gunk floating about. So out with the old and in with the new. Much better.
A month later being in the mood for more clutch lever faffing I decided to remove the clutch lever simply to lube it. Low and behold the plunger was loose…the little grub screw that held it in place wasn’t tightened enough. With all my faffing about in getting a setting that was perfect to me the master cylinder piston started to weep fluid. What a job finding a replacement but found one on Wemoto. Successfully fitted it yesterday. Road tested it today and yes all good.
However cos I can’t leave stuff alone I damaged the micro switch so ordered a new replacement….£52 quid from eBay…original stock £135 so I’m telling myself that I’ve saved a few quid
